Hello! Here's what you need to know on Wednesday.

1. US President-elect Donald Trump has questioned the legitimacy of US intelligence officials' findings on Russia's cyberattacks, and now lawmakers are going after him. It comes after Trump said on Twitter: "The 'Intelligence' briefing on so-called 'Russian hacking' was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!"

4. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told Fox News that hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman did not come from a Russian source. 5. The legal weed market in the US is growing as fast as broadband internet in the 2000's. The market posted $6.7 billion in revenue in 2016, up 30% from the year before, according to a new report from Arcview Market Research, a leading publisher of cannabis market research.

6. The Indian government is about to endorse giving all its citizens free money. The government is set to endorse Universal Basic Income and will release a report in January which says the idea is "feasible" and "basically the way forward," according to Professor Guy Standing, co-founder of the Basic Income Earth Network.

7. Turkey's parliament has voted to extend "emergency rule" for another three months. Emergency rule enables the government to bypass parliament in enacting new laws and to limit or suspend rights and freedoms when deemed necessary. It was first imposed in Turkey after an abortive military coup on July 15 last year and then extended in October.

8. "Deadpool" was the most illegally downloaded movie in 2016. According to TorrentFreak, the film — which earned over $780 million at the global box office — was illegally downloaded millions of times since its theatrical release in February.

9. Fiji has been hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The 10km deep quake struck southwest of the island nation, 227km away, at about 10.53am Wednesday morning. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center initially declared the tsunami threat, but it has since passed.
