Hello! Here's what you need to know on Thursday.
1. UK Prime Minister Theresa May has abandoned a whole swathe of election promises she made just weeks ago. The changes to her manifesto come after failing to win a majority in the general election and failing to secure a deal with the DUP.
2. Despite erasing large areas of Conservative party policy from her speech, one area that has survived is May's commitment to a "Hard Brexit." She confirmed Britain will leave the Single Market and Customs Union, and she sets out a total of eight Brexit bills designed to move the plan forward.
3. The victims of the Grenfell Tower fire have been rehoused in a luxury Kensington development. The Evening Standard reports that the homes were sold to the City of London Corporation at cost price, meaning the deal was worth around $16.78 million (£10 million).
4. The chief executive of Kensington and Chelsea council has resigned amid criticism over the borough's response to the fire. Nicholas Holgate, who has been in post since 2014, said it was the "highest priority" of the council to help families affected by the fire and his presence would be a "distraction."
5. It looks like the US will start providing Ukraine with weapons to combat Russia. Following meetings in Washington, Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko said that Kiev and the US would soon sign a number of agreements boosting defence cooperation.
6. The president of the Philippines is considering "carpet bombing" a city overrun by Muslim militants with ties to the Islamic State. The Filipino military has been fighting to dislodge pro-Islamic State militants in Marawi for five weeks, although progress has been slow and Rodrigo Duterte is growing impatient.
7. France's justice minister has resigned. François Bayrou's resignation comes one day after the country's defence minister Sylvie Goulard minister departed, and hours before president Emmanuel Macron announced his new government line-up.
8. A Russian plane carrying the defence minister was buzzed by a NATO fighter jet, according to reports by Russian media. They say the incident happened in international airspace over the Baltic when Sergei Shoigu was flying to the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. NATO says it tracked the Russian jets as they did not identify themselves.
9. ISIS has destroyed the mosque where it first declared its "caliphate" in 2014. The group destroyed the al-Nuri mosque in Mosul when fighters detonated explosives inside the structures late Wednesday night. ISIS claims that a US aircraft destroyed the complex.
10. Saudi Arabia's King Salman has made his son next in line to the throne. The king handed the 31-year-old sweeping powers as the kingdom seeks a radical overhaul of its oil-dependent economy and faces mounting tensions with regional rival Iran.
