1. The Donald Trump administration announced sweeping changes to airline safety in the US. The changes include enhanced overall passenger screening, heightened screening of personal electronic devices, more thorough screening at checkpoints, along with the increased use of security technology, canines, and preclearance locations.
2. Victims of the global cyberattack have paid $US9,000 so far but can't get their files back. The cyberattack began on Tuesday, hitting the Ukrainian government and banks, then spreading to a Russian oil company, advertising firm WPP, and other companies around the world.
3. The Grenfell Tower death toll won't be known until next year. The death toll has risen to at least 80 people after the latest victim was identified as five-year-old boy Isaac Paulous. Police continue to carry out a painstaking investigation.
4. Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Prince William are embroiled in football's World Cup bidding scandal. A FIFA ethics report, published on Tuesday, examined the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Duke of Edinburgh and Cameron both supported England's bid to host the 2018 tournament.
5. Trump will visit Paris on Bastille day. French President Emmanuel Macron invited the US leader to attend the annual ceremonies on July 14. The two men last met in Brussels in May.
6. Canada has hit two critical warning signs for a financial crisis. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is flashing warning indicators for Canada meaning that debt has reached critical levels.
7. The Vatican's number three cleric has been charged with multiple historical sex offences. Australian cardinal George Pell, the Vatican's head of finance, has been summonsed on charges relating to multiple allegations of sex abuse.
8. The Venezuelan government is hunting for rogue policemen who attacked government buildings by helicopter, but critics of President Nicolas Maduro suspected the raid may have been staged to justify repression. Others say it could be a turning point for the country.
9. Uber is under investigation in Australia. The investigation relates to whether the company's conditions for drivers comply with federal regulations.
10. Kim Jong Un has issued an order for the execution of former South Korean President Park Geun-hye. According to the North's state news agency KCNA, the order relates to a "revelation" that Park planned to assassinate its leader in 2015.
