Super typhoon Soudelor – the most powerful storm in the world this year – is expected to hit land over the weekend, with Japan, Taiwan and China predicted to cop the full force of its category 5 effects.
Since it developed on Tuesday, a number of images of the storm cell have been shared on the internet.
